Xing-Dong Yang, PhD
Associate Professor, School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University
Xing-Dong Yang’s research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is at the intersection of interactive smart “things”, hardware learning and prototyping tools, and accessible computing. He creates interactive systems using sensing techniques and haptics to enable powerful applications in smart physical and virtual environments and overcome societal challenges caused by poorly designed interfaces between humans and computers. Methodologically, Dr. Yang predominantly focuses on user-centered systems research with systems and tools designed for and evaluated by potential users in controlled experiments.
