Lisa Marsch, Director of the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health (CTBH) at Dartmouth and Nicholas Jacobson, Director of the Treatment Development and Evaluation Core of CTBH will be giving invited presentations at the White House on December 19, 2024. This event, hosted by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) will highlight novel and promising technological innovations under development to address the substance use crisis in America.
Dr. Marsch will present on the story of the first prescription digital therapeutic authorized in the US by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of substance use disorders. Dr. Jacobson will present on the development and evaluation of the first generative AI intervention for mental health disorders.
The goal of the convening is to raise awareness among federal staff engaged in the lifecycle of innovations related to substance use prevention, substance use treatment, and overdose prevention. In addition to showcasing innovative technologies, this gathering will shed light on potential solutions for bringing novel concepts from bench to bedside. Sharing insights and strategies learned from going through the various stages of product development and commercialization can help ensure that the benefits of these innovations are available, equitably, to all Americans.
